A recent study from the UK (University College London) of 11,000 adults showed that people who brushed their teeth fewer than 2 times a day had an increased risk of heart disease. The study also showed increased blood borne tissue factors known to be associated with heart disease. This study supports the growing evidence that poor oral hygiene can cause systemic inflammation and cardiovascular disease. So, brush and floss to not only keep your teeth healthy but keep your heart healthy too!
